our-story

Our Story

Since 2005, the McBride family is proud to continue this strong heritage by providing one of the best traditional Irish pub experiences in the north-west. “Service and quality are at the heart of everything we do and we work closely with local suppliers and artisan food producers,” say owners Michael and Louise McBride.

“House specialties include our famous Seafood Chowder, our signature warm chicken salad, and our ever-popular Sunday Roast dinners. We’re also famous for a good pint of Guinness!

”We want to share everything that is good about Donegal and Irish hospitality. That includes a warm welcome, excellent food, friendly service and exceptional value”

Delicious Fresh Food

The Travellers Inn prides itself on offering guests a delicious meal at exceptional value. We offer everything from pizzas and tasty bar snacks, to sweet treats and full dining menus. So, you will find plenty to tempt you with a large selection of local seafood, matured meat and fresh poultry dishes. Savour the best of The Wild Atlantic Way in our relaxed and traditional atmosphere. You can be sure of a warm welcome and a guaranteed culinary experience with freshness, excellence and customer satisfaction at its core.

Baxters Bar

Our cosy Baxters’ Bar is the perfect spot for a great pint of Guinness and a chat. We offer a full bar service from 4pm to 11.30pm (12pm to 11pm on Sundays), subject to Covid-19 restrictions.

Although we’re famous for our Guinness, we also offer the best of Donegal craft beer, such as Kinnegar Breweries growing range of ales and porter. We also offer the usual range of spirits, and soft drinks and a selection of red, white and sparkling wines.

Beer Garden

You can enjoy your drinks – and food - al fresco in our large outdoor dining and beer garden area. There is plenty of seating, a built-in bar, a covered area – for rainy days - and a TV if you need to catch the match.

Our extensive outdoor seating area is particularly popular during Covid restrictions and because we can accommodate groups and special occasions easily there. If you want to book a special event in our beer garden, please call us on +353 74 9163499
